The Crusty Crew (Dominic and Christine Silvestro, Nicole Alponat, Alan Poe, Hannah Young, Kennedy McMillen, Sam McGiffin, & Nick Jarrell) arrived to their work site on Day 1 to a home built in 1868. The home is in great disrepair. Our mission is to patch sand and paint a bedroom, re-drywall patch sand and paint another bedroom and to rebuild some steps leading into the home that we actually walked on getting in to the home and found out that they were also in bad shape (add it to the list). Our home owner is Kathy and her family. Kathy is a real character. She has a witty, sarcastic sense of humor and really loved having us there. Three teams worked together on this job site today. The Crusty Crew (us), the Lobster Mobsters and a team from a church out of Boston. We all worked together, switching it up with each others assigned jobs, ripping roofing, ripping down ceilings, and sometimes the roofing people were looking right into the eyes of the ceili(ng people (the roof is that bad!)
Old newspapers from 1907, petrified rats, bugs bugs and more bugs and even an AWOL wheel barrel did not deter this group from a great day of hard work. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
